The arrival of an extraordinary contemporary Australian painter.

Doreen Chapman’s inaugural solo exhibition, co-presented with Martumili Artists, opened at FORM Gallery Perth in September 2016. The twenty two acrylic paintings presented in this exhibition were produced at Martumili Artists and SpinifexHill Studio during 2015-16. 

Through this exhibition Chapman announced herself as a leading artist in the generation after the Pujiman, as a maverick within the figurative tradition, and as sitting withinthe vanguard of contemporary Australian painting.
