Nyaparu William Gardiner (1943–2018) wins Best Work on Paper at the 36th Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards 2019.

Spinifex Hill Studio artist Nyaparu (William) Gardiner was posthumously awarded the prize for Best Work On Paper in Darwin on Friday 9 August at the 2019 NATSIAA Awards: Australia’s premiere award for contemporary Indigenous art. 

Gardiner was one of Spinifex Hill Studio’s most successful, prolific, and respected artists. The Art Gallery of Western Australia, Curtin University, and Flinders University Collections have all acquired his art.
